On Monday, less than two months after she was diagnosed with terminal ovarian cancer, Brittany Burns died an engaged woman.
Burns, 26, was a former Clemson University rower who had been dating Clemson football alum and Buffalo Bills linebacker Tony Steward for the past three years after they met in college. Following Burns' diagnosis, the couple launched a CrowdRise fundraiser, Britt and Tony's Fight Like A Girl Campaign, to spur the creation of a fully-functioning nonprofit charity for other women with ovarian cancer.
As she battled through rounds of chemotherapy, Burns kept friends, family members and supporters up to date on Twitter and Instagram.

It turns out that the special moment when she and Burns got engaged took place in Philadelphia, according to People. On Instagram, Burns posted a photo of Steward popping the question at R2L, located on the 37th floor of Two Liberty Place. It was three days after she was diagnosed.
