A Philadelphia police officer has been arrested on several charges related to possession of child pornography and has been suspended from the department.
According to a statement from police, Officer Emmanuel Folly, a three-year veteran of the force serving in the city's 18th District, was allegedly found in possession of downloaded child pornography on his personal laptop, tablet and desktop computer.
The alleged discovery was made by police as a result of a sweep by the department’s Special Victims Unit, which follows IP addresses to residences, in this case to the home of Folly’s parents, where he also lives.
Folly, 25, has been suspended from the department for 30 days with the intent to dismiss. An investigation is underway.
The charges include sexual abuse of children, possession of child pornography and dissemination of child pornography, police said.
