A Philadelphia eatery will help some lucky lovers who may be light on dough celebrate Pi Day by getting hitched.
According to the Philadelphia food blog Philly Grub, the Philly location of &pizza at 1430 Walnut St. will transform into a pop-up wedding chapel on March 14 (Pi Day) to host on-the-spot weddings complete with all the traditional nuptial toppings, like an on-site officiant, flowers and photographer.
There will also, of course, be plenty of pizza.
As Philly Grub explained, the Washington, D.C.-based eatery has been helping couples get married and fed for free for the past two Pi Days at its D.C. locations. The tradition apparently started when a math teacher (hence, Pi Day) and pizza aficionado said their vows under the brand's signature ampersand sign. This year, the restaurant is expanding the celebration to the Philadelphia location.
Interested couples can fill out an application on the website, or they can just show up hungry and in love. Also, to keep with the cheesy theme, Domino's recently launched this wedding registry.
