A Philadelphia non-profit is working on a mobile app that will help young people answer questions about their sexual health, CBS Philly reports.
The app is called "It Matters," and aims to help answer the sexual and reproductive inquiries of people mainly between the ages of 14-24, and provide resources such as the location of health clinics to address those questions with the assurance of privacy, according to the app's website:
The “It Matters” App works to reduce the stigma around sexual and reproductive health concerns by allowing youth to tailor their online information seeking experience with assurance of its confidentiality, allowing them to follow-up and seek out in-person health services at their own comfort level.
Access Matters is the Center City-based group behind the app, which is set to be released sometime this fall. The organization aims to provide equal opportunities for people of all income levels to sexual and reproductive health resources.
The organization's director of program development Brian Green told CBS Philly that this app is aimed at helping achieve that goal, as many low income family's only use their phone's for internet access and not desktop computers or laptops.
In order to help make the upcoming app as effective as possible, its developers are currently looking for people between the ages 13-24 to test it out. If you fall in that age group, you can sign up to do so here.
