WalletHub, a personal finance website, published its "Best & Worst Cities for Staycations" last week, and the City of Brotherly Love found itself at No. 15, one spot above Austin and one below Minneapolis.
The website organized the rankings by comparing the 150 largest cities in the country and breaking them down based on three categories, including recreation, food and entertainment and rest and relaxation. Those three categories were further analyzed by 36 other factors, like hiking trails, museums, beer gardens and weather.
Pittsburgh fell behind Philly at the No. 18 spot.
Data was collected through the U.S. Census Bureau, Council for Community and Economic Research, Eventbrite and others, according to WalletHub.
Philly scored even better when it came to individual factors. The City of Brotherly Love was No. 1 in its swimming pools per capita category and scored the No. 9 spot for the most museums, according to a WalletHub spokesperson.
The high ranking makes a lot of sense. Travel + Leisure did name Philly as one of its "50 Best Places to Travel in 2017," after all.
