The menu at Jones, located at 700 Chestnut St., is the epitome of comfort food, especially with its fried chicken and waffles. These waffles are topped with gravy and served with a fried chicken breast and thigh.

If you prefer a more savory dish, Supper also serves duck and waffles. This plate includes a crispy duck leg with a pecan and sage waffle, served with cabbage and maple bourbon.

Soy Cafe on North Second Street in Northern Liberties puts a unique, healthy twist on waffles with its waffle-dots. This dish, perfect for brunch, is vegan, gluten-free and made-to-order. Plus, it looks cool.

Chhaya Cafe

Dessert for breakfast? Yes, please. (Chhaya Cafe/Facebook)

Some like it sweet and some like it savory. At Chhaya Cafe on East Passyunk Avenue, you can have both. On your waffles that is. For the savory, try sausage gravy waffles topped with a fried egg or a pile of cornbread veggie chili waffles. For the sweet, the pecan waffle (above) will fill your craving.
