Democratic politicians from the Philadelphia region reacted quickly on Twitter on Tuesday to the news that FBI Director James Comey had been fired by President Donald Trump. Comey's FBI, of course, was investigation allegations that Russia meddled in November's presidential election.
Almost to a man, the Dems' reactions boiled down to two words: independent prosecutor.
Philly-area Republican politicians, for the most part, including U.S. Sen. Patrick Toomey and U.S. Reps. Patrick Meehan and Brian Fitzpatrick, passed up on the opportunity to comment immediately about the news on Twitter.
This is Nixonian. Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein must immediately appoint a special prosecutor to continue the Trump/Russia investigation.

The main investigator of the Russian attack on election has been fired. Now, we need an independent special prosecutor more than ever.

This stunning breaking news of the White House firing of FBI Dir Comey shows why we must have a Special Prosecutor like in Watergate.
