The Phillies wouldn't have selected Cornelius Randolph with the tenth overall pick in last week's draft if they weren't fairly confident they could sign the prep star from Georgia. Still, anytime Scott Boras is involved ("advising" is the proper term here), there's always some room for pause.
Both sides expressed confidence a deal would get done, and according to MLB.com's Jim Callis, the Phillies and their first-round pick have agreed to terms on a deal. Randolph's other option was a full baseball scholarship to Clemson.
1st-rder Cornelius Randolph, @Phillies agree on $3,231,300 (full value at 10). Ga HS SS, future 3B, one of best all-around bats in @MLBDraft

As Callis notes, $3,231,300 is precisely the slot value of the signing bonus for the tenth pick in the draft. Randolph, who the Phillies plan to move from shortstop to left field, comes in with the reputation of a kid that can flat-out hit but might struggle to find a position.
Later in the day, Callis' partner at MLB Pipeline (and friend of the program) Jonathan Mayo reported that the Phillies have come to an agreement with University of Arizona second baseman Scott Kingery, their second-round pick.
2nd-rder Scott Kingery signs w/@Phillies for full pick value at No. 48 = $1,259,600. 2B @ArizonaBaseball good pure hitter w/speed @MLBDraft

As Mayo noted, that is also the slot value for the 48th selection in the draft. Also at MLB.com, Todd Zolecki reported yesterday that the Phillies have already agreed to terms with 28 of their draft picks but have yet to officially confirm the signings.
