On the same day the Phillies added outfielder Jordan Danks to fill out the team’s 40-man roster, they also agreed to deals with a pair of their own outfielders, Domonic Brown and Ben Revere.
With announcement of the two signings, the Phillies no longer have any arbitration eligible players to worry about.
Brown, 27, agreed to a one-year, $2.5 million deal after hitting .235 in 144 games last season. He led the team with a .305 average with runners in scoring position and hit a career-best 22 doubles to go along with 10 home runs and 63 RBI.
Revere, like Brown, signed a one-year deal, but his is worth slightly more at $4.1 million. There’s a reason Revere will make more this season.
In 2014, he hit .306, good for fifth-best in the National League, and finished tied for first in hits (184) and fifth in steals (49). The 26-year-old, who is entering his third year with the Phillies, became just the 12th player in franchise history with 40 or more stolen bases in a season.
Phillies pitchers and catchers are scheduled to report to Clearwater, Fla. on February 18 for the start of spring training.
