Now that the 2016 baseball season is finally over, it’s time to begin the countdown to next year.
The Phillies will kick off the 2017 season in Clearwater, Fla., on Feb. 13 when pitchers and catchers report, the team announced Friday. The first workout comes a day later and the first full-squad workout follows on the 17th.
The Phillies 2017 spring training schedule kicks off with an exhibition game against the University of Tampa on Thursday, February 23. Spring training continues with 18 matchups in Clearwater. The Grapefruit League Home Opener will be played against the New York Yankees on Saturday, February 25.
Other highlights include a three-game stretch beginning on March 3 against the Minnesota Twins, followed by a game on March 4 against the Atlanta Braves and the Phillies Alumni Day game on March 5 against the Detroit Tigers. The annual St. Patrick’s Day game will take place against the Toronto Blue Jays on March 17.
The spring training schedule concludes on Friday, March 31 with a game against the Tampa Bay Rays.
Spring training three-game packs go on sale Monday, November 21. Individual ticket sales for Spring Training games will begin on January 5. Tickets can be purchased at phillies.com, by calling 215-463-1000, or in person at the ballpark in Philadelphia or Clearwater.
