Fodor's Travel on Tuesday named Philadelphia a must-visit travel destination for the upcoming year in its Go List 2016.
The list, which includes 25 destinations around the world, highlights travel spots for their exotic beaches, culture centers, natural wonders, major celebrations and more.
Philadelphia is one of just six U.S. destinations on the list, including America’s National Parks and Utah. Fodor's calls the City of Brotherly Love a great "getaway for history lovers, foodies, and families."
Formerly under-the-radar areas like Fishtown and Northern Liberties have experienced an immense revitalization with the arrival of many new breweries and beer gardens, turning these once-quiet neighborhoods into hip nightlife and cuisine hubs.
Fodor's also cited the Schuylkill Banks Boardwalk and the coming-soon Democratic National Convention.
UNESCO recently named Philadelphia the first World Heritage City in the United States.
