A Philadelphia teenager will spend between 9 and 23 months in prison after pleading guilty Wednesday to a pair of burglaries in Cheltenham Township earlier this year.
Police first became suspicious of 18-year-old Lordquian Morant after reports of burglaries in at the Lynnewood Gardens apartment complex in March and April, Montgomery News reports. After surveilling the area with a tip to look for a silver Buick Lucerne, police arrested Morant under suspicion of involvement on April 11.
Police noted in their arrest affidavit that they had responded earlier that night to a burglar alarm from a home nearby the Lynnewood complex parking lot where Morant's Buick was parked.
Officials said they witnessed Morant and another man move the vehicle to a home where they forced their way in through a back window. An officer stopped Morant as he exited the home carrying Xbox and some controllers. The second suspect, Donte McNeil, was taken into custody and is still awaiting trial on burglary-related charges.
In addition to his charges, Morant will spend four years on probation and must serve 60 hours of community service. A restitution payment will be determined at a later date.
