More than two dozen companies will be exhibiting their works, from traditional-looking wooden chairs to sculptural statement pieces and decorative arts. Many of those exhibiting are from the surrounding area, like The Bazis Collection from right here in Philadelphia and the Lederer Studio Furniture from Columbus, New Jersey. Others are from farther away, reaching from Baltimore to Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Though the title of the event says "Invitational," it is in fact open to the public. The title refers to how exhibitors are invited to attend based on the quality of their work and admitted via an application process. That means anyone can get their shopping fix all weekend.
Take a look at the exhibitors' work here. If you're content living in Ikea, you'll love the truly unique works made by craftsmen passionate about their work, no assembly required.
A preview party for the event will be held Friday from 6-9 p.m. at the Armory including samples of Dad's Hat rye whiskey and light fare for $40. Attendees also receive tickets to return to the show when it's open to the public Saturday and Sunday.
