The Basketball Tournament is once again back in its original city. TBT, the annual summer basketball tourney, will hold its semifinal and championship games in Philadelphia at Drexel University's Daskalakis Athletic Center.
The 64-team tournament will culminate in a winner-take-all championship match that features a $1 million prize to the winning squad.
The semifinal games will be played on Aug. 2 with the championship game then coming on Aug 4. All three of those games will air live on FOX Sports.
"We are excited to return to where TBT all started eleven years ago in Philadelphia," said TBT founder and CEO Jon Mugar. "Between Puma, Zelle, and Drexel, we have three outstanding partners who will help us put on a great show. And with our $1,000,000, winner-take-all championship game broadcast Aug. 4 on FOX, we anticipate our largest audience ever."
Teams that will play at the event include, among others, La Familia, a collection of former University of Kentucky players featuring Eric Bledsoe, Willie Cauley-Stein, Doron Lamb and more. More college-specific alumni teams will be seen playing from schools such as Butler, UConn, Penn State and others, too.
If you're starved for summer hoops action, TBT will give you your fill.
