Slot machine revenues at Pennsylvania's casinos and racinos in 2015 rose 2 percent over the previous year.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board reported Wednesday that gross revenue from slot machines topped $2.3 billion for the fifth consecutive year.
Total slots revenue for 2015 was $2.37 billion or 1.99 percent above gross revenue of $2.32 billion in calendar year 2014.
Valley Forge Casino in King of Prussia led the four Philadelphia-area casinos in slots growth, reporting revenues of $78 million, a 6.21 percent increase over 2014.
Parx Casino in Bensalem reported the most slots revenue of the local casinos, with $379.1 million in revenue, a 5.06 percent increase year-over-year.
Other area casinos seeing growth in 2015 were Harrah's Philadelphia Casino and Racetrack in Chester, Delaware County, which reported revenue of $218.4 million, a .24 percent increase.
Slots revenue at SugarHouse Casino in Philadelphia dipped slightly, with $174.3 million, a 0.6 percent decrease.
Slots gaming in 2015 generated $1.27 billion in tax revenue, which is used, in part, to reduce property taxes for all Pennsylvania homeowners.
The PGCB also posted on its web site the monthly slots revenue report for December 2015, which showed an increase of 4.8 percent in gross revenue over December 2014. Gross slots revenues of $197.5 million were reported statewide in December.
The average combined number of slot machines operating daily was 26,229 in December 2015 compared to 26,377 a year ago.
