As part of the ongoing PECO Multicultural Series along the Delaware River waterfront, Penn's Landing will host two special festivals in a row. The Festival of India will take place Saturday, Aug. 15, and the Caribbean Festival will take place Sunday, Aug. 16.

The Festival of India is presented by the Council of Indian Organizations in Greater Philadelphia to celebrate India Independence Day on Aug. 15. The free festival will display the varied local Indian-American culture with authentic Indian dance, music and cuisine. Each summer, thousands attend the festival, which is in its 21st year, to experience Indian culture.

The Caribbean Festival will be celebrating the culture of 14 Caribbean islands. The live entertainment lineup includes authentic island reggae, international beat, hip-hop and gospel music, poetry, dance and the steel band sound. A marketplace will fill the event with authentic island cuisine, fashion, souvenirs, crafts and a children's corner. The event also raises scholarship funds for college students of Caribbean descent.
