It has been almost a week since the Philadelphia Eagles released WR Josh Huff, and they still have not yet added a player to their 53-man roster to take Huff's place.

According to Doug Pederson, that player could be fan favorite WR Paul Turner or CB Aaron Grymes.
"We've got some guys we're evaluating on our practice squad," said Doug Pederson. "Paul Turner, Aaron Grymes, we've got some guys. We don't have to make a move right now. There's no hurry."
Turner led the NFL during the preseason with 17 receptions, which earned him a spot on the original 53-man roster after final cutdowns. He was later released and then signed to the practice squad after the Eagles signed a trio of players off of waivers, including WR Bryce Treggs, S Terrence Brooks, and LB Kamu Grugier-Hill. Turner is small (5'10, 193) and not particularly fast, but he displayed excellent hands all throughout training camp and the preseason.
The Eagles originally signed Grymes back in February. In his four-year career at Idaho from 2009-2012, Grimes had just three interceptions and 13 pass breakups. After college, Grimes played for three years with the Edmonton Eskimos in the CFL from 2013-2015, where he had eight interceptions and 14 pass breakups.
Grymes was one of the Eagles' standouts in the preseason games, highlighted by this spectacular interception against the Steelers:
However, that interception might have also cost Grymes a roster spot, as he injured his shoulder on the play.
So why no hurry for the Eagles to promote one of their own?
There's little threat of another team poaching Turner or Grymes off the Eagles' practice squad, and neither player would likely be among the 45 active players on game day anyway should they be promoted to the 53-man roster.
Meanwhile, the Eagles have the opportunity to scour the practice squads of 31 other teams to see if they can find anyone worth trying to sign to their 53-man roster.
