Patty Griffin, Rhett Miller play WXPN's Big Night Out

Signed celeb memorabilia auction rounds out fundraising event

What used to be WXPN's "Big Day Out" has turned into "Big Night Out." This year's April 11 evening event supporting WXPN radio will feature two short sets from Patty Griffin and Rhett Miller

Griffin is a Grammy-winning folk singer-songwriter. Miller is the lead singer of alt rock band Old 97's, though he just announced a new solo album called "The Traveler."

The two will perform for patrons of WXPN while they enjoy beer, hard cider and -- get this -- grilled cheese tastings. Yes, you read that right: grilled cheese tastings.

A silent and live auction will go on while attendees enjoy their yummy snacks featuring vacation stays, gift certificates, Eagles tickets and signed memorabilia. Guitars signed by Hozier, Ryan Adams or Brandi Carlile, plus items signed by Bob Dylan and Sam Smith, will be up for grabs.
