Back in July, Pabst Brewing Co., makers of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer (PBR), debuted a PBR-themed "Can Crusher" pinball machine. On Nov. 26, that machine will be in Northern Liberties for North Bowl's first pinball tournament.
The PBR pinball game was developed in partnership with Stern Pinball Inc., the oldest and largest producer of arcade-quality pinball machines in the world.
Along with the special pinball machine, there will be a pop-up "PBRCade." Eight vintage arcade games will be set up throughout North Bowl's loft.
Those who want to enter the tournament should RSVP here, then register at North Bowl at 3 p.m. on Nov. 26. The cost is $5 to enter the main tournament, which begins at 4 p.m. Finals and the "Can Crusher Challenge" will begin at 6 p.m.
The challenge will run separately from the main tournament. Players will be allowed to enter as many times as they'd like, since the goal is to get a specific score instead of the highest score. The cost will be $1 per play on the "Can Crusher."
All skill levels are invited to try their luck on the machines (and on Thursday, Nov. 17, the machines will be set up in North Bowl for anyone who wants to practice).
Prizes, like unlimited lifetime bowling and swag from North Bowl and PBR, will be given to winners.
Spectators can still have fun, too. There will be PBR and Jim Beam specials, plus chances to win prizes outside the tournament.
