A Pennsylvania man has been arrested on charges of child endangerment after police said they recovered a loaded pistol in his home feet from where three young children, including a newborn, slept.
According to an Associated Press report on the incident by 6ABC, police were called to the Bethlehem home of William Rodriguez following a report of a dispute.
Police said the call was from a woman who claimed Rodriguez was intoxicated.
Authorities told the Associated Press that when police arrived at the home, they recovered a loaded gun stored between a mattress and the wall of a bedroom where the children slept. Authorities said that officers saw two of the children jumping on the mattress.
Rodriguez was charged with endangering the welfare of children, reckless endangerment and harassment. His relationship to the woman and children was not immediately known.
