Pennsylvania Ballet will conclude its 2018-2019 season with a trio of high-energy ballets this May. The program will feature Christopher Wheeldon’s DGV: Danse à Grande Vitesse, a world premiere by choreographer Jorma Elo, and Jerome Robbins’ Glass Pieces. Five performances are scheduled between Thursday, May 9 and Sunday, May 12 at the Academy of Music. Tickets are on sale now.

Set to a score by celebrated composer Michael Nyman, Christopher Wheeldon’sDGV®: Danse à Grande Vitesse commemorates the French Train à Grande Vitesse and conveys the sense of movement and momentum of the high-speed train. Jorma Elo’s all-new ballet, Trigger Touch Fade, follows DGV with spectacular choreography and a beautiful pas de deux set to music by Joseph Haydn and Johan Sebastian Bach. The program concludes with the company premiere of Jerome Robbins’ Glass Pieces, a masterpiece piece set to three works by American minimalist composer Phillip Glass.
