A former member of the band Owl City has been indicted on charges that he attempted to lure and make sexual contact with a 14-year-old girl in Atlantic City.
According to prosecutors, Daniel P. Jorgensen of Minneapolis contacted the juvenile over the Internet and by cellular phone in August 2013.
The indictment, announced Wednesday, alleges that Jorgensen, 30, who played guitar, drums and bass for the band during tours, made sexual contact with the girl on the beach in Atlantic City and tried to lure her back to his hotel room and the band's touring bus.
Jorgensen faces charges of attempting to lure or entice a child and criminal sexual contact. If convicted, he faces 5-10 years in a New Jersey State Prison. A Superior Court judge set bail at $100,000.
Owl City is the solo music project of singer-songwriter Adam Young. The band, which has had several rotating touring members, has had a number of tours throughout the U.S., with stops in Philadelphia and one in Atlantic City, the latter being the stop where the indictment stems from.
