Google added a setting Tuesday permitting Gmail users to retract emails moments after sending them, a feature that countless people probably wished was available a few mistakes ago.
Google formally added an 'Undo Send' option permitting users to to un-send emails within 30 seconds of sending them. The feature, turned off by default, can be enabled by selecting the 'General' tab in Gmail settings.
Users can enable cancellation periods ranging from 5 to 30 seconds. So if it takes you a minute to realize you accidentally sent your mother a flirtatious email intended for your significant other, you're still out of luck.
The feature, which the tech behemoth spent years developing in Gmail Labs, also is available on its mobile Inbox app.
