Online fundraising to start for 'Age of Trump' exhibit in Atlantic City

A proposed exhibit exploring the "Age of Trump" in Atlantic City – a possible prelude to a museum – is moving forward, an organizer announced Thursday.

Levi Fox, Trump Museum Committee member and the founder of Jersey Shore Tours, which offers a ‘Trump Tour’ of Atlantic City, says that whether a museum, which he spitballed in December, is ultimately successful likely depends on fundraising efforts.

The Trump Museum Committee plans to launch an online fundraising campaign, said Fox

Meanwhile, the committee hopes to soon start accepting artifacts and collecting stories from those who lived or worked in Atlantic City over the last four decades.

“For any display to ‘pop-up’ at all in 2017 will probably require thousands of dollars in public donations,” Fox admits, “but on the flip-side if a temporary exhibit in July and August generates enough of a buzz, a pop-up museum could evolve into a permanent institution for research and public historical education.”

The committee is seeking:

“Anything related to marketing Trump Castle, Trump Marina, or Trump World’s Fair is especially needed, but all types of objects from photos and playing cards to towels and trays that help to narrate the story of Trump’s Atlantic City casinos are sought with an initial goal of staging a pop-up museum or temporary exhibit as soon as summer 2017 at a location to be determined.”

Those with artifacts to donate or local stories to share are encouraged to visit the project website: www.TrumpMuseum.org.
