Looking to chow down but don't want to indulge too much? You're in luck.
A Philadelphia eatery has ended up on Healthyish's "The 10 Most Healthyish Restaurants in America List."
Published earlier this week, the food website darted around the country to compile the list, but luckily, Eli Kulp's High Street on Market landed a spot.
Never heard of Healthyish before? Not a surprise. Healthyish is a new brand from Bon Appetit, the national food website and magazine, that has a focus on cooking and eating well. It launched in late January.
Though, it's not the first time the website (well, Bon Appetit) has given the Old City restaurant a top honor. It was the No. 2 best new restaurant in the nation back in 2014, according to the site.
Aside from fresh soups and salads, the Old City restaurant is known best for its freshly baked bread.
Here's what the website had to say:
I’m one of those oddballs who can still eat gluten-filled bread. That doesn’t mean that I’ll eat just any slice of toast, though. Some of the best dough in the country is coming out of their ovens. Even better than the bread is the bread stuffed with things like mushrooms and swiss, smoked bluefish and cucumber cream cheese, and sliced turkey with green goddess dressing. Yes, sandwiches can be healthyish in my book! And if you are gluten intolerant, know that the grilled broccoli salad with blistered grapes, almonds, and herb mayo is quickly reaching legendary status.
A restaurant in Maine and New York were the only other East Coast features on the list.
