Amtrak officials have confirmed a person was fatally struck by a train Sunday night in Bucks County.
According to NBC 10, the incident occurred in Bensalem when Amtrak Train 672, headed from Harrisburg to New York, struck the unidentified victim around 7:30 p.m. near the Cornwells Heights Station, located on the 700 block of Station Avenue.
SEPTA's Trenton line and Amtrak service were temporarily suspended in the area, but later resumed.
The incident comes on the same day that two people were killed and 31 others hospitalized after an Amtrak train crashed and derailed in Chester. The rail service said that trains will operate regularly as scheduled on Monday, with some delays between Philadelphia and Wilmington.
