The leader of a drug distribution ring in Ocean County was sentenced to prison Friday.

Enzo Pena, 29, was arrested in March 2013 after officers pulled over his vehicle on Route 72 in Manahawkin.

Police searched his vehicle and later his home in May's Landing, finding one pound of marijuana, two loaded handguns, and thousands of dollars in cash.

According to the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office, Pena was running a drug distribution ring in Stafford Township. During that time, he employed at least five juveniles in his scheme.

Pena was charged in April of being the leader of a drug trafficking network, employing juveniles in that network, and possessing a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

He has been sentenced to 30 years in New Jersey State Prison, and is ineligible for parole during the first 10 years of his sentence for the charge of being the leader of a drug trafficking network.
