Ocean County rollover crash sends car airborne, two passengers survive

Investigation underway after vehicle crashes over median on Route 37

Police are investigating a one-car rollover crash in Ocean County, New Jersey, that sent the vehicle airborne over a concrete highway divider before it came to rest more than 300 feet away.

The two young men who were inside the vehicle Saturday night miraculously survived, though one of them was left seriously injured, according to NBC 10.

The crash occurred on Route 37 near Colonial Drive at around 11 p.m. Saturday, when the 2012 Chevy Impala, driven by 21-year-old Eric Larson, of Jackson, lost control in the westbound lane crashed into the concrete divider, police said. The vehicle bounded into the eastbound lanes and traveled about 70 feet before it flipped onto its passenger side and finally settled on its roof 320 feet away from where it hit the median.

Both Larson and his passenger, 22-year-old Talyor Bromberg, were properly restrained in the vehicle, according to investigators. Bromberg suffered severe injuries to his abdomen and was taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River.

The crash remains under investigation by the Traffic Safety of the Manchester Township Police Department.
