President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden will be in Philly this week to join the Democratic policy retreat, Politico reports.

Lawmakers at the annual retreat, which will take place at the Sheraton Society Hill Hotel, 1 Dock St., will create a legislative agenda for the 114th Congress.

Obama is said to be making an appearance at a dinner on Thursday, while Biden will attend the end of the three-day conference on Friday.

Local lawmakers are proposing Philadelphia as the site of the 2016 Democratic national convention, Philly.com reports. U.S. Rep. Brendan Boyle(D., Pa.) even hopes to arrange a trip for the group to Independence Hall next week.

Commuters can expect traffic delays as a result of the visit.

According to Ardmore-Merion-Wynnewood Patch:

For security reasons, Secret Service never releases a presidential or vice presidential motorcade route in advance. However, temporary road closures should be expected and traffic congestion should be expected as the 45-vehicle presidential motorcade moves through the city.
