John A. Crimmins, a 22-year-old man from Yonkers, New York, drowned at a beach in Ocean County on Saturday afternoon after the U.S. Coast Guard, New Jersey State Police and other crews conducted an extensive search.
The victim, who was identified Sunday, was reportedly swimming with a group of friends at a beach in Mantoloking when he disappeared from their sight, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.

Lifeguards made a 911 call was made at around 2:35 p.m. and a search was underway until the man's body was discovered around 3:08 p.m. near Strickland Avenue in Bay Head, New Jersey, according to investigators.
The man was brought to shore and CPR was performed before he was taken to Brick Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The death is being investigated by officials. No other details were immediately made available.
