South Street Headhouse District's latest addition, Me N Mo Meatballs is now open to the public at 214 South St. The restaurant specializes in hand-rolled meatballs (duh) and house-made pasta, sauces and desserts. The restaurant has eight meatball varieties, which will switch out over time.
The restaurant is owned by Giancarlo Frusone; its executive chef is his brother, Sandro Frusone. Frusone had previously opened Giancarlo's Lounge at 1506 Spruce St., as well as Bella Cena Primadonna in Rittenhouse -- both of which have closed.
Pricing for the new restaurant can be simply described as such: four meatballs with fresh baked focaccia are $8, and all sides and desserts are $5. For Super Bowl Sunday, Me N Mo will offer buffalo chicken meatballs (pictured) and Hong Kong meatballs (pork and shrimp topped with a chimichurri sauce and dipped in a ginger-soy vinaigrette).
