A school bus carrying about 30 children and adults crashed and overturned on the New Jersey Turnpike in Cherry Hill around 11:40 a.m. on Friday, but no serious injuries were reported.
The bus rolled onto its side and fell onto the shoulder of a southbound lane but did not hit any other vehicles.
Several people suffered minor injuries and were being treated at a local hospital. The exact number of injured was not immediately known.
The Associated Press reported authorities did not know if the children were part of an organized group or school, as most were seen wearing similarly colored shirts. After the incident, the children were seen standing along the grassy shoulder while they waited for a replacement bus.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Traffic delays are expected on the Turnpike's southbound lanes of up to 40 minutes Friday afternoon — just in time for the holiday weekend exodus to the Jersey Shore.
