It's a warning that parents hear every year: "make sure to check your candy" after trick-or-treating on Halloween night.
It's a piece of advice worth remembering.
On Tuesday, New Jersey State Police reportedly found a needle in candy collected in Commercial Township, Cumberland County.
According to state police, an unnamed mother told detectives she was going through candy collected by her child on Monday night when she discovered a sewing needle buried inside a Tootsie Roll candy.
No suspects have been identified, but police said the investigation is active and ongoing.
Meanwhile, state police urged parents to make sure to check their children's candy.
