It looks like we’ll finally get to see Sauce Castillo do something other than pour hot sauce on a basketball.
After missing out on the Sixers’ opener Wednesday night in Boston due to back spasms that started occurring just minutes before tipoff, Nik Stauskas says he’s good to go against Utah tonight in the home opener.
“I went to the chiropractor yesterday and he helped me out a lot,” Stauskas said. “And I went through pre-game [drills] right now and I’m feeling good so I’m excited to be back on the court.”
According to Stauskas, there is a 20-minute limit on his playing time. Earlier, Brett Brown said “he believed” Stauskas would play, hedging his bets due to the last-minute nature of the decision in Boston.
Stauskas had missed the entire preseason after suffering a stress reaction in his right tibia a couple of days into training camp. On that front, Stauskas says he has fully rehabbed.
“I’ve actually been feeling good for a couple of weeks now,” Stauskas said. “They’ve just been really cautious with kind of bringing me back just because they don’t want it to be something that comes back and turns into a stress fracture.”
“[The Sixers] have done a really good job of limiting me and making sure I work my way back into shape.”
