Former Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Mychal Kendricks will go from a player on a championship team to one that has won one game over the last two seasons in the Cleveland Browns. Maybe.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network was the first to report it, in his typical weird, over-complimentary way.
Sources: The #Browns are signing free agent LB Mychal Kendricks to a 1-year deal, bolstering their linebacking group late in the offseason. Along with Jamie Collins and Christian Kirksey, it could be one of the most talented in football.

Despite the compliment, Kendricks reacted bizarrely to the report.
You will never have my respect

Lol, what? It turns out that Kendricks seemingly wanted nothing to do with the Browns, as he soon after denied that he was signing with them to multiple reporters.
Mychal Kendricks on report he is signing with the Browns: 1/2: “No, it’s not accurate. I don’t know who the (bleep) said that. That (bleep) is (bleep). Whoever said that (bleep) is (bleep). That’s all I have to say, man. I’m not really talking to anybody else about it...

LB Mychal Kendricks on report he's signing with the Browns, 2/2. " It’s (bleep). I don’t like people like that. I don’t respect people like that. And that’s all I have to say.’’

Mychal Kendricks on report he’s signing with Cleveland texted me to say “fake news bruh , we are in negotiations with a number of teams period”

And finally, a more definitive report (complete with more agent-shill commentary) emerged that Kendricks was indeed signing with Cleveland.
#Browns and LB Mychal Kendricks have agreed to a one-year deal, with a max value of $3.5 million, per source. Kendricks will start from day one for Cleveland.

Some money details:
Kendricks can make more than $3M in 2018, a nice payday in June. With as many packages as they’ll play, the #Browns will be able to utilize Collins, Kirksey, Kendricks and the Pro Bowler Joe Schobert. https://t.co/9F7BD3AeXj

A nice payday? His original base salary with the Eagles was going to be $4,850,000 if they hadn't released him. Anyway, how did Kendricks react to the updated, more definitive reports?
I called free-agent LB Mychal Kendricks to ask him about the Yahoo Sports report tonight that he has agreed to a one-year deal with Cleveland with a maximum value of $3.5 million. He hung up.
