Tuesday night’s Phillies game caught the attention of the sports world when a heckling fan was ejected by home-plate umpire Bob Davidson, and it turns out at least some in the political world took notice, too.
Appearing on Fox Business’ "Mornings with Maria,” Republican and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich was discussing Donald Trump’s campaign, likening the Republican presidential nominee’s recent comments to the San Francisco 49ers Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Montana being in a slump.
Then Fox Business anchor Dagen McDowell chimed in.
“When conservatives look at this, it’s not like an interception,” she said. “It’s like a fumble, because he is yelling at some fan in the stands who has insulted him. And that is what people worry about … whether that is a fixable problem.”
“You’re describing sort of playing in Philadelphia,” Gingrich replied.
