Many of Philadelphia's suburbs are hosting their own New Year's Eve celebrations to ring in 2016. Find family-friendly events, ball drops and live musical performances in the roundup below.
The festive garden will host a musical celebration for New Year's Eve. There will be strolling musicians, organ music, a barbershop quartet, carolers and a brass band. The garden will stay open until 10 p.m. that night.
This New Year's Eve event is unique to the "mushroom capital of the world." Kennett Square takes a cue from Times Square and drops an eight-foot-tall, 500-pound stainless steel mushroom to ring in 2016. At 8 p.m. the mushroom will be lit and raised. Guests can enjoy entertainment, food, beer and wine while waiting on the one-of-a-kind ball drop.
The Garage Youth Center on Union St. will be open all night to entertain children with face painting and balloon sculptures. Dancers from Longwood Dance Studio will put on a show for the crowd and there will be laser shows every hour.
A variety of food vendors will be on State St. starting at 6 p.m. Then, at 9 p.m. a heated tent will open on S. Union St. with chili, mushroom soup, macaroni and cheese, beer and wine. A $10 cover is required to enter.
The mushroom will drop at midnight and The Funsters, a rock and soul band, will perform from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Families can enjoy a celebratory meal and take photographs with Sesame Street characters at this special New Year's Eve event. At 6:25 there will also be a fireworks show set to Sesame Street music.
Dinner reservations and park admission are required.
Media, in Delaware County, will host a ball drop and live entertainment by Philly Gumbo.
There are two musical celebrations happening at Ardmore Music Hall on New Year's Eve. The first is a family-friendly event starting at 10 a.m.
Family Jam will feature a balloon artist, face-painting, arts and crafts, full kids brunch menu, a cash bar for adults, family photo booth, a noon New Year's Eve ball drop and music by Baby Loves Disco and Emmy Award-winning Alex and The Kaleidoscope.
The event is $15 in advance and $20 at the door.
The second musical event will take place at 8 p.m. PhillyBloco, a 23-piece Brazilian funk band, will perform a mash-up of Samba, Funk and Reggae. Tickets for the event are $30 in advance and $35 at the door.
