Regional Rail riders will want to review SEPTA's new schedules that will go into effect next weekend.
The transit agency unveiled this week the new timetables on its website. Beginning Sunday, April 23, adjustments will be made on most of SEPTA's 14 routes on both weekday and weekend service. More than half of the lines will experience major changes.
SEPTA officials noted that some changes were necessary on trains "operating on Amtrak lines to support the final implementation phase of Positive Train Control."
Schedules can also be found on the SEPTA mobile app and printed pamphlets at all stations.
There are significant changes on the following lines: Chestnut Hill East, Manayunk/Norristown, Media/Elwyn, Paoli/Thorndale, Trenton, Warminster, West Trenton and Wilmington/Newark.
Most tweaks include departure times moved up to 23 minutes earlier or later, but some will be more noticeable.
The last outbound train to Chestnut Hill East on weekdays has been terminated. Construction on the Manayunk/Norristown Line will cause significant changes. The Paoli/Thorndale Line adjustments will also force changes to bus routes 201, 204, 205 and 206. A late train has been added to service along the Trenton Line on Saturdays only.
SEPTA officials also announced minor changes to the Fox Chase and Lansdale/Doylestown Lines. They include departures times that were moved up to 10 minutes.
Trains on the Airport, Chestnut Hill West, Cynwyd and Glenside lines are not affected.
