Love City Brewing in Philadelphia's Callowhill neighborhood has made it part of its mission to give back to organizations addressing the city's biggest issues – such as homelessness and the opioid crisis.
Every quarter, Love City brews a beer with a local nonprofit organization and donates 10-percent of the beer's sales to the group.
The staff recently voted on their first 2019 partner and Sunday Love Project won. Every week, the nonprofit serves more than 600 meals to those in need in Philadelphia.
Margaux Murphy, founder of Sunday Love Project, recently visited Love City to brew "Sunday Love Saison."
This beer is made with barley, wheat, buckwheat and spelt. Blackberries will be added to the fermented beer for a tart taste and rich color.
The new brew will be available at Love City's taproom on Friday Feb. 1, beginning at 4 p.m.
"Margaux is one of the most compassionate people I’ve ever met. Sunday Love Project is not just feeding people – it’s building community and showing people kindness and respect," said Melissa Walter, founder of Love City.
Available beginning Friday, Feb. 1
4 p.m.
