A dog who was thrown from a bridge in Louisiana earlier this year has found a home in New Jersey, NJ.com reported Monday.
When the dog is healthy enough to travel, Dina Alborano will welcome her into her Allentown, Monmouth County, home.
The adult female pit bill, given the name "Ally Gator," was abandoned in September when someone stopped along Interstate 310 in St. Charles Parish and tossed her over the railing into the LaBranche Wetlands, according to NOLA.com.
She fell about 30 feet, was bitten by an alligator and nearly drowned before being rescued from a grassy patch of land following a 45-minute effort, the report said.
Alborano was chosen from a number of applicants who learned of the dog's story.
Ally Gator is believed to be between 5 and 7 years old, according to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office.
