Police in Chester County are investigating after needles were reportedly found in several pieces of Halloween candy given to children Saturday night for trick-or-treat.
According to Kennett Square police, a "needle type" item was discovered inside the wrappers of five Twix bars distributed to four different kids somewhere in the Stenning Hills neighborhood.
Authorities say they were notified Sunday and that the candy has been submitted for processing and examination.
Police are asking parents to check all candy before letting their kids eat it.
Anyone with information on the tampered sweets is asked to call the Kennett Square Police Department at 610-268-3171 or 610-444-0501.
