For one night only, Nectar, the Asian-inspired French restaurant in Berwyn, Pennsylvania, will host cheesemakers, brewers and distillers for a special event. On April 16 "A Spirited Evening" will bring together regional and national artisans for diners to meet and greet with while enjoying their culinary wares.
Executive Chef Patrick Feury was inspired to introduce diners to products not available in the local market by travels in Vermont. Thus Mateo Kehler, cheesemaker of Jasper Hill Farm; Todd Hardie, distiller of Caledonia Spirits; and Allen Van Anda and James Griffith, brewers of Lost Nation Brewing Company -- all New England artisans -- are on the bill for this tasting event.
Of course, it wouldn't be right to leave the Commonwealth out of the lineup. Cheesemakers from Birchrun Hills Farm, Yellow Springs Farm and The Farm at Doe Run;, distillers from Philadelphia Distilling Company and Manatawny Still Works and brewers from Forest & Main Brewing Company will represent Pennsylvania on the table.
Many of the dishes on the night's menu will be made with locally sourced products and Éclat Chocolate of West Chester will be on hand to sweeten the deal. Some of the night's proceeds will go to Greener Partners of Collegeville, an organization that hopes to increase public access to fresh foods.
Reservations for the tantalizing meal are going fast, so make reservations now if you'd like to attend.
