Montgomery County teacher charged with molesting students

Jason Gattuso, 39, of Chalfont, Bucks County, is charged with having sexual contact with two former students when he was working as a social studies teacher at Springfield Township Middle School.

Bucks County man has been charged with having sexual contact with two students he met as a teacher at Springfield Township Middle School, authorities said.

Jason Todd Gattuso, 39, of Chalfont, was arrested Monday and charged with with statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor, aggravated indecent sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and related offenses, according to the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office.

Investigators alleged Gattuso met his two victims when they were 14 and 15 years old while he was working as an eighth grade social studies teacher at the Montgomery County middle school. 

One of the girls told police she allegedly was sexually assaulted by Gattuso in January 2015, when she was a student in ninth grade. The second girl was 14 years old when Gattuso allegedly began a sexual relationship with her in June 2014. It continued through August 2015, police said.

Multiple encounters with the girls allegedly occurred in Gattuso's car as it was parked various lots around Montgomery County, according to police, who others allegedly took place inside a Philadelphia home. 

According to court documents, Gattuso admitted to having sexual relationships with both of the victims. 

The Montgomery County District Attorney's Office said officials at Springfield Township Middle School have been cooperating in the investigation. Gattuso is being held at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of $500,000 bail. 

Gattuso's preliminary hearing is set for Aug. 9.
