A Montgomery County man is facing felony charges related to internet child pornography after a county detective acted on an incriminating tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
According to prosecutors, 25-year-old Andrew Ritter Nutinsky, of Lafayette Hill, was in possession of more than 50 images of child pornography and a video uncovered during an investigation that began last October.
Montgomery County Detective James Reape received a tip about a Skype user who uploaded a sexually explicit image of girl believed to be about four years old. The account was traced to Nutinsky's residence at 253 Birch Drive in Whitemarsh Township.
In response to the discovery, Detective Reape and members of the national Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force served a search warrant on October 23, 2015. During a thorough forensic search, investigators collected more than 50 images, including the one revealed by the original tip.
Nutinsky was arraigned Dec. 21 and held on $50,000 unsecured bail. He waived his preliminary hearing and will face trial in the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas.
Nutinsky's home had previously been investigated in 2013 on suspicion of child pornography, but investigators were unable to definitely link the evidence to him.
Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele announced Nutinsky's arrest Friday for 10 felony counts of Sexual Abuse of Children and one felony count of Criminal Use of a Communication Facility.
