Kisu Sohn, 23, of Upper Gwynedd Township, has been arrested on felony charges of possessing and distributing child pornography, the county's district attorney office and Pennsylvania Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force announced Tuesday.

After beginning an undercover operation in June, Abington Township Detective Richard Beaghley was able to receive pornographic content that contained images of exploited children shared through a computer that was "specifically configured" to share files anonymously.

  • Beaghley obtained a search warrant after learning that the computer could be traced to Sohn's home.

    Beaghley wrote in the affidavit

"I informed Sohn that we were with the ICAC Task Force and asked if he knew of any reason why we might be there. Sohn replied yes, it was probably because he downloaded some videos off the internet."

Sohn was released on $50,000 bail and is charged with distribution of child pornography, possession of child pornography and criminal use of a communication device. His preliminary hearing is set for Aug. 25.
