A house fire in Montgomery County killed one person and injured several others Monday morning, CBSPhilly reports.
The fire broke out around 2 a.m. in a home on Skippack Creek Road near Fretz Road in Souderton.
It took nearly two hours for firefighters to place the two-alarm fire under control, officials said. Authorities said firefighters were unable to save a woman who was trapped in the upstairs room because the floor collapsed, forcing them to retreat. She died at the scene.
Four others were transported to Grandview Hospital in unknown condition.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
