The mother of a 2-year-old Bucks County girl who died Monday has been charged in the child's death, 6ABC reports.
According to 6ABC, police allege the child’s mother, Kayla Moore, of Falls Township, confessed to “kicking” the girl in the head and torso multiple times before calling an ambulance for the child.
Falls Township police, the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office and hospital staff investigated the girl’s cause of death after District Attorney David Heckler said she could have died from blunt force trauma.
The girl, identified as Athena Wolfe, was first taken to an area hospital on Sunday, then transported to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where she died Monday, the Bucks County Courier Times reports.
Moore has been charged with criminal homicide, aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
