Many Philadelphia neighborhoods go all out at the holidays, creating spectacular presentations of lights and decorations. In South Philadelphia, neighbors pool resources to create amazing displays that attract people from down the street, across the city and even from other towns—all eager to get their fill of dazzling holiday spirit.

As if South Philadelphia's "Miracle on South 13th Street" needed to be told, yet again, that it's awesome, Travel + Leisure just named it to "The Best Christmas Lights in Every State." Each year, the 1600 block of 13th Street turns itself into a winter wonderland, pooling its resources to blow every other neighborhood's displays out of the water.

The magazine said,

If you’re looking for an influx of Christmas cheer in Philadelphia, head to the 1600 block of South 13th street, stat. Nearly every house on the block decorates to the nines with over-the-top lights, garlands, inflatable snowmen, and flying reindeer, earning them the much-deserved nickname, The Miracle on South 13th.

As for the rest of the tri-state area, Cranbury, New Jersey's Keith Shaw, who creates a music-synchronized light show each year, and Delaware's DuPont mansions took home top honors for their holiday displays.
