“We are honored and thrilled to have Michelle Obama, one of the most respected women in the world, join us at this year’s conference,” Leslie Stiles, board president of the Pennsylvania Conference for Women, said in the release. “With her career-long devotion to improving the lives of children, increasing nutrition awareness, and advocating for equal access to education, Michelle Obama's impact clearly extends beyond her White House years.”
Obama, who attended both Princeton University and Harvard Law School and led various initiatives during her time in the White House including Let's Move! and Let Girls Learn, will join in the conversation on Tuesday, Oct. 3. Other main stage speakers include Dr. Brené Brown, a research professor at the University of Houston and New York Times best-selling author, as well as Carla Harris, vice chairman at Morgan Stanley who was appointed by former President Barack Obama to chair the National Women's Business Council.
The conference, which works to "promote, communicate and amplify the influence of women in the workplace and beyond," will be held on Oct. 3 from 7:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. A book of White House photographs of the former first lady, called "Chasing Light," will be released Oct. 17, according to USA Today.
Individual tickets cost $185 and can be purchased here. A complete agenda for the 14th annual conference will be released mid-July.
