Two Philadelphia police officers are lucky to have escaped with minor injuries after their cruisers collided Friday afternoon in the Mayfair section of Northeast Philadelphia.
Police said the incident occurred around 12:49 p.m. near Brous and Unruh avenues, where officers had been responding to a call for assistance.
The first police cruiser crashed into the second while heading eastbound on Unruh Avenue. The collision left both cars severely damaged.

A third civilian vehicle heading southbound on Brous Avenue also became involved in the collision. The driver of the vehicle was not injured.
The police officers involved in the crash were transported to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where they were treated and expected to be released.
Police said the crash is under investigation.
